SEARCHLIGHT FONT INFORMATION
This is the uppercase portion of the Searchlight font, created by Jim Morton at
Pop Void Publications. It was created for Catherine Reuther of Searchlight
Publications, for use in their logo. This file is free to use as you see fit.
If you would like to obtain the complete typeface, with uppercase, lowercase
and special characters, please send $20 to:
Pop Void Publications, 109 Minna St., Suite 583, San Francisco, CA 94105.
Searchlight is very similar to Empire, a popular art deco typeface that is (to
the best of my knowledge) not currently available as a PostScript font. Even
without the lowercase it is a useful typeface. It is excellent for cramming a
lot of information into a very small space.
HOW TO USE THE SEARCHLIGHT FONT
1. Drag a copy of the file named Searc into your System folder.
2. Install the file named Searchlight.bmap in your System's font directory,
either using Font/DA Mover, or Suitcase II.
3. Highlight the text that you want to appear in the Searchlight typeface and
select Searchlight from the font menu.
4. When printed on a PostScript-compatible laser printer, the selected text
will appear in the Searchlight font. (NOTE: I've never tried printing this
typeface on a Lino or other higher resolution imagesetting device. Use at
your own risk. I'd be interested in hearing reports on this.)
ABOUT POP VOID PUBLICATIONS
Pop Void Publications is a small publishing company in San Francisco that
specializes in desktop publishing. We have created several fonts, many of which
are available on various BBS and information services. It is alright to upload
this font onto other bulletin boards, provided that you include this document
and all other documents included in this Stuffit file.
We'd be interested in hearing any comments, suggestions, type ideas,
complaints, etc. that you may have about this or any other Pop Void typefaces.
We are constantly fiddling with and fine-tuning our fonts, so your comments are
appreciated; even if you don't plan to purchase any of our typefaces. Drop us
a line! Enjoy!
